Movies

Since their are innumerable vampire movies, I will select a few that are considered classics or the “best.”

I would suggest that vampire fans should watch any or all of the Dracula movies, a list of the “best” incarnations can be found here.

One foreign film that is absolutely fantastic is called Let the Right One In, released in 2008 in Sweden, the trailer is here for your viewing pleasure:

The story centers around Oskar, a 12 year old boy who is constantly bullied by his peers, but does not fight back. He always wanted a friend, and found one when Eli, a 12 year old girl, moved in next door. He soon realizes that she is a vampire, because she only comes outside at night and other tell-tale signs.

It was probably the blood on her face that gave her away.

This movie is a foreign thriller, directed by Tomas Alfredson, written by John Ajvide Lindqvist and produced by Magnolia Pictures.

Another great film, quite bloody and violent is Blade (both a trilogy of movies and a 12 episode series).

Blade was born as a vampire-human hybrid, when his extremely pregnant mother was bitten by a vampire, and began her change just before he was born. He has all the strengths of a vampire, and none of the weaknesses. He refuses to drink human blood after killing numerous people in his wild youth. He has trained himself to kill “evil” vampires, and falls in love with a human named Dr. Karen Jenson, whom he saved from a vampire.
